A Kaleidoscope of Love: A Styled Wedding Shoot

Step into a world where vibrant colours, dazzling sparkles, and heartfelt moments come together in a spectacular styled wedding shoot. Inspired by the desire to break away from tradition and infuse a sense of joy and fun, a talented team of four—Gen, Kate, Samantha, and Claudia—crafted a celebration that was nothing short of magical.

Inspiration and Vision

The vision for this shoot blossomed over a delightful coffee and cake catch-up. The team envisioned a setting that was bright, vibrant, and brimming with colour and sparkle. Instead of the usual floral arrangements, the venue was adorned with balloons, ribbons, pom poms, and sequins. The result was an extravaganza that radiated joy and excitement.

Bespoke Outfits and Unique Headdresses

Kate, the genius behind The Party Frock, showcased her incredible talent by crafting personalised outfits that went beyond the ordinary. Avery’s dress, designed with a soft material to protect their diabetic monitor from catching on the sequins, exemplified the thoughtful touches that set Kate’s work apart. Both Avery and Lussie’s bespoke outfits, including a show-stopping ribbon cape, brought smiles and laughter, perfectly capturing the spirit of the day.

The outfits were complemented by two extraordinary headdresses from Sophie at Starlight Boutique. Featuring miniature disco balls, faux flowers, pom poms, and even a toy cheetah named Clarissa, these headdresses were designed to dazzle and delight. The joy they brought was palpable, and subtlety was joyfully cast aside for this epitome of fun and extravagance.

A Genuine and Heartfelt Proposal

To keep the shoot genuine and authentic, a real couple, Avery and Lussie, were chosen as models. In a beautiful twist, Lussie confided in the team that they planned to propose to Avery later in the day. A handfasting ribbon, lovingly plaited in meaningful colours, was prepared. After the shoot, as Avery and Lussie sat on the stairs, Lussie popped the question. Avery’s tearful, joyful “yes” was met with cheers from the entire team, creating a moment that became the highlight of the day.

Overcoming Weather Challenges

Originally planned for the wooded glade at Hirst Priory, the shoot faced a challenge when the weather took a turn. With the help of Jess from Hirst Priory, the setting was reimagined, creating a fluid, meandering aisle leading to a fireplace adorned with bright balloons by Hannah from Wild Moon Balloons. Avery and Lussie’s grand entrance through a wooden arch covered in ribbons and pom poms was a sight to behold, proving that a little creativity can turn any obstacle into an opportunity.

Capturing the Magic

Claudia from Cherished Photography used a Sony A7iii and her favourite zoom lenses (28/70 & 55/210) to capture the essence of the day from a comfortable distance, ensuring that every candid moment was preserved. Her editing approach was to keep the images light and vibrant, staying true to the lively colours of the balloons, gold leaf, cakes, desserts, ribbons, and sequins.
